John K. Weatherspoon, PhD, Esq. is a Registered Patent Attorney and practices in all aspects of intellectual property.  He has extensive experience in patent and trademark law, including patent preparation and prosecution; patent litigation; pre-litigation analysis, patent reissue and reexamination proceedings; interference practice; strategic national and international patent portfolio development and management; patentability, validity, invalidity, infringement, freedom to operate, due diligence opinions, and design patents.  John also has extensive experience with Hatch-Waxman matters, including analysis of Orange Book listed patents and ANDA litigation.

 

John has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patents worldwide in the chemical, biotechnological, and pharmaceutical arts. These include diverse areas such as novel compounds, drug delivery, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical formulations, biotechnology, cellular and molecular biology, immunology, organic and inorganic chemistry, polymers, medical therapeutics, oncology, neurobiology, medical devices and diagnostics, nanotechnology, proteomics, bioinformatics, genomics, computer-assisted business methods, and computer and mechanical arts.
